Viseo & Around, Spain

The village of Viseo is about as mellow as it gets.  The locals spend there time tending to their fields, milking their cows and gathering in the central park for a chat or BBQ.  During several conversations with the locals we asked how long they've been in the village and the response was always the same... a funny look followed by "siempre" (always).
Our time here has been very "tranquilo".  The kids wander the street between our house and the park, playing with the local dogs & feeding the chickens.  We often find Riley laying in the grass with her "wolf pack" of dogs.  Cole has had fun on the playground and chasing chickens.

We have done a few day excursions to check out the area.  This part of the coast is called Costa de Morte due to the rugged coastline and numerous shipwrecks.  We explored around and found some beautiful unspoiled areas.  Along the coast we drove out onto a dirt road to visit the Cemeterio de Ingleses.   This was a cemetery/memorial for a British ship that crashed into the rocks in the late 1800's, with all but a couple people on board dying.

A local named Jesus took the kids into his barn and showed them how the cows were milked.  It was an easy area to settle into and enjoy the simplicity of watching time pass by.  I loved spending the afternoons reading on the front porch in the sun, watching the kids.

This was a hard area to leave because of our love for rural, uncrowded places but the time came for us to continue south.
